With a totally recognizable style, the children that star in Dong Mingguang's sculptures emerge from an innocent world, although full of violence, deceit and materialism. The multiplicity of characters that, as a series, his sculptures display, allude to the resurgence of Chinese power. With his works, Mingguang expresses the anxiety of a country and its people. Trained in photography and sculpture, Mingguang combines his work as an artist with teaching at the sculpture center of Shandong Art College. A graduate in sculpture from Shandong Art College in China, Mingguang is a member of the Chinese Artists Association and Chinese Sculpture Institute.
