CURRO GONZÁLEZ (Seville, 1960).
"Embrace", 2004.
Pastel on canvas.
Presents label of the Gallery Distrito 4, Madrid.
Measurements: 150 x 150 cm; 154 x 154 cm (frame).
Pastel on canvas in which the artist uses a very expressive aesthetic language. This characteristic is due to the composition, whose perspective is presented to the viewer as a fisheye, focusing on the center and distorting the dimensions of the outer areas.
Curro González made his solo debut in 1982 in Seville (he had already exhibited in a collective in 1981), and the following year he obtained a grant from the Ministry of Culture to be followed by others from the Caja de Ahorros San Fernando de Sevilla (1984), the University of Valencia at the Martínez Garricabeitia Biennial (1992), the Pollock-Krasner Foundation in New York (1998), the Endesa de Artes Plásticas (2011) and the beca.residencia at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris, granted by the Institut Français (2013). Throughout his career, Curro González has participated in outstanding fairs and group shows, held in art centers, museums and galleries in Spain, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Argentina, the Philippines and the United States, among other countries.
