- Lot Description
Measurement: Height: 42 1/4 in x width: 50 in.
Condition: minor wear on edges on stretch canvas as well as a few spots and discoloration. There is also a small hole repair in the beige as photographed.
Urban Stanley Couch (1927-2007). Oil painting on canvas abstract painting titled "Yellow Square." Signed along the verso and inscribed "Morgantown, W. Va." A label from the Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art at Cornell University, Ithaca, New York, is attached to the verso.
Urban Stanley Couch was born and raised in Minnesota, and received his degree from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. He worked in a variety of styles, and had a large number of influences, ranging from Abstract Expressionism and Hard Edge styles to more traditional styles inspired by his Native American heritage. He had a successful career as an academic as well as an artist, and was art department chair at West Virginia University for many years. He is especially known for his striking use of color, often in geometric compositions such as this painting. - Shipping Info

In-house shipping is available for coins, jewelry, and sterling. Please note a $10 handling fee is added to the cost of shipping. Additionally, all shipments require full insurance & signature required.
All other items will be shipped through our local UPS service. Once your items are ready to ship, you will receive an invoice directly from UPS.
If you wish to use your own shipping provider or choose to use a third party for pickup, please notify us no later than 2 days post auction.
We require that the shipping address match the registered billing address of the credit card used for payment. If buyer needs an item shipped to an alternate address, then payment must be made by wire transfer. All shipments must be fully insured/ declared at their full purchase price. The recipient is responsible for any/all packing costs, shipping costs, duties, taxes, fees, etc. International shipments are a case by case basis and must be pre-approved by SebastianCharles.
