Nicholas Richard Brewer, a renowned 19th-century painter, excelled in portraits and landscapes. After studying in Rochester, Minnesota, and New York City, he returned to Minnesota, setting up a studio in St. Paul. Brewer painted in notable venues and his works are held in esteemed collections, including the Art Institute of Chicago and the Smithsonian Institution. A member of art associations like the American Federation of Arts, Brewer authored "Trails of a Paintbrush" (1938), offering insights into his life and the late 19th-century American art scene.
Condition: Image is in very good condition, frame has some loss of finish, and there is some wood loss to the back of the board. Please see photos.
