Artist Bio: James Desvarreux-Larpenteur (1847–1937) was an American painter recognized for his pastoral landscapes featuring cattle and sheep. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris for approximately ten years. Desvarreux-Larpenteur resided in San Francisco between 1885 and 1890, where he became known for his rural scenes. His work was exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1877 to 1886 and again from 1899 to 1914, as well as at the California State Fair in 1888 and 1889.
In-house shipping is available for coins, jewelry, and sterling. Please note a $10 handling fee is added to the cost of shipping. Additionally, all shipments require full insurance & signature required. All other items will be shipped through our local UPS service. Once your items are ready to ship, you will receive an invoice directly from UPS. If you wish to use your own shipping provider or choose to use a third party for pickup, please notify us no later than 2 days post auction. We require that the shipping address match the registered billing address of the credit card used for payment. If buyer needs an item shipped to an alternate address, then payment must be made by wire transfer. All shipments must be fully insured/ declared at their full purchase price. The recipient is responsible for any/all packing costs, shipping costs, duties, taxes, fees, etc. International shipments are a case by case basis and must be pre-approved by SebastianCharles.
