Antoine Blanchard (1910–1988) is known for his romantic and nostalgic depictions of Parisian street scenes. Born in France as Marcel Masson, he studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Rennes before moving to Paris. Blanchard's works capture the charm of 19th and early 20th-century Paris, featuring bustling boulevards, horse-drawn carriages, and illuminated cafés. His style is characterized by impressionistic brushwork, rich color palettes, and attention to atmospheric detail. Blanchard’s paintings reflect a deep admiration for the works of Édouard Cortès and Jean Béraud, contributing to his reputation as a master of Parisian street scenes.
