- Lot Description
We all know the famous image of Michael Jordan's "Last Shot" in Game 6 of the 1998 NBA Finals, the famous jumper over Utah's Bryon Russell that ended up being the game-winner for the Chicago Bulls to secure their second Three-Peat of the decade. The common image is from a vantage point directly behind MJ with the ball in flight and the clock showing 6.6 seconds left.
Here we have a never-before-seen photograph taken at a side angle of this historic moment, just before the ball swishes through the net and sinks the hearts of the Jazz faithful. Snapped by our consignor, who had incredible courtside seats across from the Jazz bench, the image perfectly captures Karl Malone, John Stockton, their teammates and coach Jerry Sloan fixated on the ball in flight. MJ holds his perfect follow-through form as Scottie Pippen, Steve Kerr and Tony Kukoc watch their guy come through again in the clutch.
As if this 1-of-1, large-format (11x14") photograph wasn't enough, it was later signed by Jordan at his Santa Barbara fantasy camp for our consignor in strong black Sharpie. Certified by Upper Deck Authenticated with a holograms sticker and COA card, it comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA as well.
