This is the film that launched Bruce Lee and the martial arts genre to international stardom. When “Fist of Fury” was released in the U.S. in 1972, audiences had never seen anything like it before. Lee’s martial artistry and beautifully choreographed fight sequences made this story of love and the fight against Japanese colonialism stand out from the regular action movie genre. “Fist of Fury” went on to make $100 million worldwide and set the bar for all subsequent martial arts pictures. This Type 1 photo shows stars Bruce Lee and Maria Yi in a dramatic sequence of the film. This was number 11 in a series of still shots National General Pictures released to promote Lee and this revolutionary new type of film. The Type 1 photo measures 8” x 10” and has some edge wear with a very small piece missing from the lower left area of the white border. The back of the photo has the National General Pictures credit along with a typewritten caption slug. There is overall toning from age and storage present. The photo has been encapsulated and graded a Type I by PSA.
