One of the toughest and most coveted pre-war baseball autographs is that of Billy Evans. “The Boy Umpire”, as he was called, became the youngest to ump a Major League game in 1906 at the age of 22. Working the American League until 1927, Evans signed this OAL Ban Johnson baseball on the sweet spot in green ink. Joining him on the well-aged ball are fellow Hall of Famers Hack Wilson and Edd Roush, who starred in the NL during the 1920s. Other notables are Roger Peckinpaugh and Bill Walker. The legible autographs rate 2-5/10 in strength and eye appeal. The three other signatures have faded considerably. Certified by JSA.
