It’s hard to fathom that today Dodger Stadium is now the third oldest ballpark in the major leagues, but it is. When it was opened in 1962, Dodger Stadium reflected the start of baseball’s Modern Era. Today, its cool, mid-century design still looks fresh and contemporary today despite it having been built nearly 70 years ago. This wonderful die-cut ticket admitted one person to THE Grand Opening of Dodger Stadium on April 10, 1962. Featuring a rendering of the new stadium and color coded to denote the green parking lot entrance, this ticket is a full unused example. In that first game at Chavez Ravine, the Cincinnati Reds beat the Dodgers, but fortunately for the LA faithful, the new ballpark would see much more winning than losing in its future. This ticket has been encapsulated and graded a VG-EX 4 by PSA/DNA.
