- Lot Description
José Fernández was off to an incredibly promising start to his career with the Miami Marlins. He finished his first four seasons with a Rookie of the Year award, two All Star appearances, and two top-ten Cy Young award finishes. Sadly, Fernández and two other men were killed in a pre-dawn boating crash into a jetty off the coast of Miami Beach, Florida, on September 25, 2016. He was just 24 years old at the time of the tragic crash. Offered is an autographed José Fernández Marlins team issued home jersey. He signed the "1" of his number "16" on the back of the jersey in bold silver Sharpie. The autograph has been MLB authenticated (HZ119816).
