- Lot Description
Offered here is a pair of Brian Wilson's 2007 San Francisco Giants game worn Nike cleats exhibiting tremendous wear. The size 12 cleats have a production date of 2/09/2007, lining up right before his official rookie season. (He debuted in 2006 but was still rookie eligible.) Wilson moved up from middle relief to closing games by the end of the 2007 season, finishing with a 2.28 ERA and six saves. He would make his first of three NL All-Star squads in 2008.
Mostly black with orange accents and white Swoosh logos, the shoes are stamped in orange with his "BWeeZ" nickname on the rear panels and his jersey number "38" on the heels. Plenty of dirt remains on the bottoms and spikes. One can notice more wear on the front of the right shoe as Wilson would drag his right toe when he pitched. Due to the excessive amount of use, the back outer soles have begun to separate from the midsoles, but the cleats are still very much intact and still display well.
Part of the Brian Wilson Collection, this lot comes with a letter signed by Wilson.
