- Lot Description
Since his 2005-06 Rookie of the Year season, Chris Paul has been a consistent force as one of the league's top point guards. Many NBA pundits consider him the last true point guard of the modern era, a selfless floor general committed to setting up others unlike just about every one of his score-first counterparts. Now a member of the San Antonio Spurs, his seventh team, in his 20th season, Paul's best run came with the Los Angeles Clippers (2011-17) when he mesmerized the basketball world as the leader of "Lob City." Once his Hall of Fame career concludes, there is no doubt CP3 will be a first-ballot inductee.
Presented here is a 2011-12 game-worn pair of Chris Paul's Jordan 'CP3.V' player-exclusive sneakers that he has autographed on each toe. CP3 also inscribed "1 CB" to each heel in honor of his then-teammate Chauncey Billups after the fellow future Hall of Fame point guard tore his Achilles tendon a few games earlier. Thanks to the placement of that inscription and a large white scuff mark on the heel, these shoes can be easily photo-matched (Getty 138767679) to the Clippers' February 11, 2012, road game against the Charlotte Bobcats. The Clips won, 111-86, as CP3 tallied 18 points, dished out 14 dimes, and added two steals. He made First Team All-NBA honors and finished the season third in MVP voting with averages of 19.8 points, 9.1 assists, and a league-best 2.5 steals per game.
The dark red shoes with light blue accents and laces come in Paul's size 12.5 and are properly tagged by Nike under the tongues with the label indicating and "Season SP12" and a "Promo 120119" manufacturing date code. Obvious game wear is evident with white paint transfers and scuff marks within the red outer surface. The autographs were penned in bold 10/10 black marker for a nice eye appeal. certified by PSA/DNA. These shoes were consigned directly by a Hollywood actor whose daughter played college basketball at a top D-1 program.
