- Lot Description
The 1998 Atlanta Falcons made the Super Bowl for the first time in franchise history. After finishing first in the NFC West with a record of 14-2, the Falcons beat the 49ers in the Divisional Round 20-18. In the NFC Championship, the 1-seed Minnesota Vikings gave Atlanta everything they had before the Falcons pulled off the 30-27 overtime upset.
Offered is a 1998 Falcons NFC Championship ring commemorating the historic season in franchise history. The ring was presented to linebacker Ruffin Hamilton, who appeared in all 16 games for the Falcons. The face of the ring features the old Falcons logo amidst a sea of genuine diamonds. "ATLANTA FALCONS" and "N.F.C. CHAMPIONS" sits above and below the diamonds. One shank has "1998," the George Halas trophy, and the final score of the NFC Championship game. The other shank has the player's name "HAMILTON," the Super Bowl XXXIII logo, the combined regular season and playoff "16-3" record, and the player's number "54." Inside band is stamped with the "10K" hallmark. The size 11.5 ring weighs 41.45 grams and includes the original presentation box.
