Brazilian Romário de Souza Faria, known simply as Romário, was a lethal scorer from the late 1980s to early 2000s, starring for Seleção in its 1994 World Cup triumph on U.S. soil. From the personal collection of PSV footballer, Berry Van Aerle comes this outstanding Romario match worn PSV Eindhoven shirt dating to the 1991-92 season. During his five-year tenure (1988-93) with the Dutch club, he racked up 165 goals in 167 appearances. Possessing an uncanny ability to operate in confined space, the 5' 6" striker was a lethal finisher in the box and became a legend in Holland's Eredivisie league.
The collared red shirt with white pinstripes features the PSV crest on the left chest with the Adidas logo the right. Sponsor "Philips" is centered on the front and Romario's red number "9" appears on the back within a white square box. Mild wear is apparent with evidence of pilling and stetching. Includes MEARS LOA and a COA documenting its provenance through Romario's PSV teammate, Berry Van Aerle.
