For more than a decade the Baltimore Orioles could depend on Eddie Murray to come through with a hit. “Steady Eddie” led Baltimore to two pennants and a World Championship as he hit his way into both the 3,000 hit and 500 home run clubs, one of only seven players in history to reach these two milestones. This awesome Orioles batting helmet was worn by Murray during the 1985 season in which he batted .297 with 31 homers and a career-high 124 RBI.
The helmet features the distinctive three-color O’s design of the period with the smiling Orioles bird on the front and Murray’s number “33” applied in vinyl numbers on the brim. The helmet displays awesome game use with many scratches, scuffs, and abrasions throughout, demonstrating that Steady Eddie got much use out of it. Best of all, the Hall of Famer has signed the black crown of the helmet in contrasting silver marker. A visually stunning game used and signed batting helmet from one of the Orioles’ most popular players. Includes LOA from John Taube of JT Sports. The autograph is sticker certified by PSA/DNA.
