- Lot Description
After decades of male-driven crime-fighting shows, “Charlie’s Angels” became one of the first television shows featuring women as its lead characters. Debuting on ABC in 1976, the show featured Kate Jackson, Farrah Fawcett, and Jaclyn Smith as LA-based detectives directed by the unseen “Charlie” in their crime-fighting missions. This Type 1 photo captures the three leading ladies who successfully made the show a serious television success, and not just another “jiggle show” as early critic predicted. “Charlie’s Angels” pioneered the path for all other positive and serious leading female roles and shows on American TV. The Type 1 image has all four borders. The reverse of the photo has the Globe Photos credit labels and numerous hand written notations. Encapsulated Type 1 by PSA/DNA.
