Arguably the greatest all-around athlete in scholastic history, Dave Winfield had the distinction of being drafted out of the University of Minnesota in 1973 by the MLB's San Diego Padres, the NFL's Minnesota Vikings, the NBA's Atlanta Hawks and the ABA's Utah Stars. Winfield chose baseball and quickly developed into a star outfielder, becoming the face of the San Diego Padres. From 1977 to 1980, his last four seasons in America's Finest City, Winfield made the NL All-Star team each year (a streak that would extend to twelve) and won two of his seven career Gold Glove awards. 1979 was perhaps the finest season of big Dave's career as the towering 6' 6" slugger batted .308 with 34 homers and a career-high 118 RBI, which led the National League and earned him a third-place finish in MVP voting.

The two-toned ash bat with a mahogany upper coating remains uncracked and displays outstanding use showing plenty of ball contact marks on the barrel. There are cleat marks, bat rack streaks and other scuffs/scratches on the barrel as well. Comes with LOA from John Taube of PSA/DNA with GU 9 grade.
