The ’72 NBA All-Star Game was a perfect blend of the old game meets the new game. Veterans such as Jerry West, Oscar Robertson, and Wilt Chamberlain came head to head with the game’s new breed represented by the two subjects of this magnificent action shot: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Dave Cowens. The caption on the back sums up the action perfectly: “The East’s Dave Cowens (right) tries to stop the West’s virtually unstoppable Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in the 1972 “NBA All-Star Game.” In the photo Kareem adroitly dribbles around Cowens’ fleeting attempt to stop his press. A visually stunning early NBA action shot featuring a young Kareem. The photo has one bum corner (top right) but is otherwise in fantastic NM-MT condition. The back has the original ABC caption slugs along with hand written notations and glue residue. Encapsulated Type 1 by PSA/DNA.
