After winning the World Series in 1959, the Dodgers needed to readjust if they wanted to continue to bring championship baseball to LA. With the core of the team still being the old “Boys of Summer” from their Brooklyn incarnation, the Dodgers needed to bring up a new crop of fresh talent. The 1960 team was one of transition, as the signatures on this Spalding Official National League ball shows. Among the signatures there are veterans Gil Hodges, Johnny Podres, and Roger Craig along with the young guys that would win the World Series in 1963 and 1965 – Sandy Koufax, Don Drysdale, Johnny Roseboro, and Maury Wills. Duke Snider and Charlie Neal are clubhouse signatures. The ball is in beautiful condition and the ballpoint signatures leap off the white leather surface. A great ball featuring the end of the Brooklyn-era Dodgers and the start of the team’s LA identity.
