- Lot Description
Crystal clear, large format original roster photograph from the 1961 NBA Champion Boston Celtics that includes (12) total signatures from each player that is included in the image. The 1960-61 Boston Celtics had a dominant team led by the face of the league, Bill Russell who had begun his dominance throughout the 1950s. The squad finished the season with a 55-22 record, atop the Eastern Conference. They would meet the St. Louis Hawks in the NBA Finals and handle them easily in a 4-1 gentleman's sweep. This marked the fourth NBA championship for the Celtics franchise. The photo comes from the collection of legendary coach Red Auerbach.
The offered original photo remains in good condition with each player's autographed penned in blue ink. Autographs include Bill Russell, Tommy Heinsohn, Tom Sanders, Gene Conley, Gene Guarilia, Jim Loscutoff, Sam Jones, KC Jones, Bob Cousy, Bill Sharman, Frank Ramsey, and Buddy LeRoux.
Accompanied by a LOA from PSA/DNA designating the photograph as a Type 1 original as well as a Beckett LOA for the autographs. Measures 11" x 13 7/8".
