- Lot Description
Offered is arguably the most visually stunning card from the extremely eye appealing 1953 Bowman Color set. The 1953 Bowman Color set utilized vivid photographic images to include facial features and uniform details never seen on a baseball card. Pee Wee Reese is pictured at the peak of his powers literally flying high as he looks to be in the midst of turning a double play. The backdrop provides a perfect setting for the action shot.
The card has been graded a nearly perfect Mint 9 by PSA. It features strong corners and edges, with centering that is just a bit less than the perfection required for a Gem Mint 10. Out of the 2,147 examples of this card graded by PSA, just one has achieved that mark and may never surface publicly.
