Doug Everett starred for the United States hockey team at the 1932 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid. Canada won the gold, but the U.S. put up a strong fight, losing in overtime in the gold medal game. Everett played five matches and scored four goals. He was inducted into the United States Hockey Hall of Fame in 1974.
Offered is Everett's silver medalist team ring. The ring has a red stone at the center encircled by the words "U.S. Olympic Team 1932." On one shank is an Olympic logo and the motto "Citius Altius Fortius." The other shank features The same design with the word "HOCKEY." Inside of the band is the "Jostens 10K" hallmark and Everett's initials "DNE." The size 9 1/2 ring has a weight of 24 grams. Exhibiting wear from use, there are scratches to the band and shanks, with a number of small dings along edges of the band. There also appears to be a tiny chip to the red stone on the tableau.
