- Lot Description
Featured here is an impressive 1924 Paris Summer Olympics participation medal in exceptional, almost mint condition. Made of pure bronze. Minted by Paris Mint. Designed by Raoul Bénard. 55 mm in diameter; 4 mm thick; 76 grams. Obverse has a city view of Paris over the legend in three lines )"VIII OLYMPIADE PARIS 1924") in raised lettering. Reverse shows Nike, Goddess of Victory, with laurel wreaths crowning victorious athletes. Designer "Raoul Benard" is stamped at the bottom rim. Presents in EF with its original presentation box (NM) stamped on the top with the 1924 Paris legend.
