The United States grew by six states during Benjamin Harrison’s administration, with Wyoming, Idaho, Montana, Washington, and North and South Dakota joining the union. Harrison was also an outspoken proponent of protecting the voting rights of African Americans and was the driving force behind modernizing the U.S. Navy. President Harrison has signed this document appointing the U.S. Consul to Trois-Rivières, Quebec in 1893. The piece has been matted with a print of a painted portrait of the 23rd president and an engraved plaque listing his career achievements. The complete framed display measures 28.5” x 42” and comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA.
