- Lot Description
There is no better QB rivalry in the NFL today than Joe Burrow vs. Patrick Mahomes. In their first three matchups (all within the calendar year of 2022), Joey Burrs led Cincinnati to thrilling 34-31, 27-24 (2021 AFC Title), and 27-24 victories over Kansas City. In the previous two meetings, Mahomes and the Chiefs prevailed in 23-20 (2022 AFC Title) and 26-25 nailbiters over the Bengals.
Presented here is a Joe Burrow signed and inscribed game-used football from Burrow-Mahomes II in the 2021 AFC Championship in Kansas City on January 30, 2022. Trailing 3-21 late in the 2nd quarter, the Bengals rallied for an incredible 27-24 overtime victory and a trip to the Super Bowl. Burrow's second TD pass of the game late in the 3rd quarter to Ja'Marr Chase, followed by a 2-point conversion, tied the score. In the extra period, Evan McPherson nailed a 31-yard FG to win it for Cincinnati. In Super Bowl LVI, the Rams barely held off the Bengals 23-20 despite another solid outing from the former LSU standout on the biggest stage. The Bengals won't play the Chiefs in the 2025 regular season, but when the sixth matchup of the two future Hall of Famers does take place, it will surely capture the attention of football fans everywhere.
The Official NFL (Roger Goodell) Wilson "The Duke" football is emblazoned with a colorful NFL logo and shows obvious game use. Burrow has autographed the panel containing a unique Bengals silver decal (marked "2021" and "355") with the following vertical inscription in strong silver Sharpie: "Game Used 1-30-22 | vs. KC | 23-38, 250 YDs, 2 TDs | AFC Champs". The ball is certified as being used in the AFC title game by Fanatics (AA0096594). The autograph and inscription are certified by Beckett (LOA on its way).
