- Lot Description
German, Black Forest, Large Shelf Cuckoo, 8 day fusee, with unusual Edelweiss motif, surmounted by a stag with full rack, the area below the dial with a pair of Ibex. The two train movement has a fusee for time and a large going barrel for the strike. The whole of the clock profusely carved with leaves and flowers, the main section supported by 4 legs simulating tree trunks; grid pendulum also with Edelweiss carving.The well carved case has fine detail on both flowers and animals. The deer, stag and ibex are carved with hair over their entire bodies. Stag antlers are delicate carvings & will be removed for shipment. The movement is mechanically complete, but has not been cleaned in many years and is covered with dust; oil is dry. Bellows are intact and original painted cuckoo bird with articulated wings and beak retains good paint. ACCESSORIES: Pendulum, Stag antlers , 33.5in x 17in x 7in
