William Salter, British (1804-1875). An early 19th century portrait of W. Pickering, Bury, Suffolk. Oil on canvas portrait depicts the sitter in a Yellow vest, three quarter-length before a window with his right hand on his hip. Annotated verso "W. Pickering, Bury Suffolk, By Salter" Overall craquelure with two large and three smaller patches verso, minor in-painting at patches. Image 40 1/2" x 49 1/2" high, in a modern gilded frame 48 1/2" x 57 1/2" high overall. ESTIMATE $2,000-3,000
