A mid 19th century miniature blanket box with original Red/Orange grain painted decoration. Inscription on base "George Heinrich Gaff, March 9 1857, Christmas 1864, Good Boy". Pine with dovetailed construction, hinged lid and short turned feet. Original finish with craquelure and minor wear, some hinge area damage, one with an old leather repair. 12 1/2 x 6 1/2 x 8 1/2" high overall. ESTIMATE $800-1,200
