- Lot Description
A mid 19th century oil on wood panel, War of 1812 Naval Battle. Depicting a United States frigate engaging a British ship, possibly off the coast of Portugal. Inscribed on the reverse, in part "2 Panneaux, Muller, Paris." No apparent signature. Very fine craquelure. Image 9 1/4 x 6 1/2", in a painted gold wood frame backed by an oak panel, 13 x 10" high overall. ESTIMATE $200-300
