- Lot Description
An Italian marble and bronze bust of Caesar. Neoclassical style, carved white marble with variegated toga and bronze breastplate, on a red marble socle. No apparent signature. Multiple chips noted where the bust joins the socle, and the edge along the garment is rough. The column has many chips about the upper edge, and all corners of the square plinth have chips, the largest of which 2" x 1", approximately. Bust 22 x 28 1/2" high, raised on a black marble columnar pedestal with feather arrow motif encircling the base, atop a square plinth, 45" high. ESTIMATE $2,000-3,000
