A late 18th century Oil on canvas, American or British School. Half-length portrait of a young gentleman wearing a dark blue coat with gold buttons and a white shirt. No apparent signature. Original canvas has been lined; an old repair at the left side of the canvas, approximately 3" long; probable overpainting at the forehead above the left eye. Varnished. Image 25 x 30", framed 31 x 37" high overall. ESTIMATE $800-1,200
