A circa 1900 German Silver Nef by Karl Kurz, Hanau-Kesselstadt. In the traditional form of a galleon with billowing sails, crow's nest, canon, anchor, and sailors, repousse Venus and hippocampi motif at the hull, raised on four functional wheels. The deck lifts to reveal an open interior. Hanau silver marks on both sections for Karl Kurz of Kesselstadt, along with English import marks throughout indicating sterling, London, 1903-04, imported by F. P. & S. (unidentified).
