A circa 1890 English Brass-mounted Mahogany Portable Artist's Box/Easel by Charles Roberson & Co. Rectangular shape, a pair of doors at the top open to a felt lined work surface, the whole hinges open to an adjustable brass easel and removable ivorene palette, fitted with a compartmented drawer at the base with label reading "Roberson & Compy. Manufacturers of Water and Oil Colours, Materials for Drawing, Painting, 99 Long Acre & 154 Piccadilly, London." An inset disc at the exterior also reads "C. Roberson & Co." along with the address, and the palette is also marked "C. Roberson." Roberson traded at these two addresses from 1889-1906. A small and minor glue repair to the drawer interior; light scratches and other evidence of use noted to the exterior. Wear to the brass banding and felt lining. Closed 9 x 6 1/4 x 3 1/2" high.
