A late 19th century English Star globe by Cary & Co., London. The 5 1/2" diameter celestial sphere is signed "Cary & Co., Makers to the Admiralty, 7 Pall Mall, London", set within a brass horizon ring bearing maker's name and patent number 21540, removable meridians, contained within a wooden box with instructions adhered to the interior lid. Small spots of peeling and scratches to the paper covering the globe; spots of discoloration noted to the metal; the lid has a full-width crack and stains to the finish. Box 8 3/4 x 8 1/4" high.
