A late 19th century figural mantel clock by Ansonia Co., "Commerce". 8-day time and strike, spring-driven movement with enameled dial, black Roman numerals. Cast metal case and female allegory of Commerce, depicted with a caduceus and box of jewels, atop an ebonized metal base. The dial is marked "Ansonia Clock Co., New York" along with "A" enclosed in a diamond shape. Minor wear and nicks noted to the black patina. Not working when catalogued. 21 x 8 1/2 x 21 1/2" high.
