A late 19th century figural mantel clock by Ansonia Co., "Art and Commerce". 8-day time and strike, spring-driven movement with enameled dial, black Roman numerals. Cast metal case and female allegories of Art and Commerce, depicted with their respective attributes, atop an ebonized metal base. The dial and movement are marked "Ansonia Clock Co., New York" along with "A" enclosed in a diamond shape. Minor wear. Not working when catalogued. 25 1/2 x 9 x 21" high. ESTIMATE $1,200-1,500
