Wedgwood Blue Jasperware Wall Mounted Display Plate. Beautiful pale blue Jasperware plate with white raised relief of a classical woman leaning against a stone column. Mounted and framed for wall display. Window on back reveals the impressed name, Wedgwood.
Wedgwood blue jasperware is a type of unglazed stoneware developed by English potter Josiah Wedgwood in the late 18th century. Recognized for its distinctive pale blue color with white, classical-style relief decorations, jasperware became one of Wedgwood’s most iconic creations. The designs often feature Greco-Roman motifs, including mythological figures, floral patterns, and medallions, reflecting the Neoclassical aesthetic popular at the time. The material is composed of finely ground stone and clay, giving it a smooth, matte finish. Highly prized for its elegance and craftsmanship, Wedgwood blue jasperware remains a symbol of refined taste and continues to be collected worldwide.
