Wayne Morrell (1923-2013) American, Oil on Canvas Landscape. Titled "Winter Road". Signed lower right. Titled and attributed verso. Framed.
An oil on canvas landscape painting of a snowy New England road, curving toward a distant town.
Condition: Commensurate with age.
Overall Size: 25 x 31 1/4 in.
Sight Size: 17 1/2 x 23 1/2 in.
Wayne Morrell (1923–2013) was an American painter known for his impressionistic landscapes and depictions of New England scenery. A self-taught artist, he initially worked as an engineer before dedicating himself to painting full-time in the 1960s. His works, characterized by rich color and expressive brushwork, often captured the charm of coastal villages, rural farms, and seasonal changes. Morrell was deeply inspired by the American Impressionist tradition and was associated with the Rockport School of painters. His work has been widely exhibited and collected, earning him a lasting reputation as a prominent New England landscape artist.
