St. Petersburg Derby Lane Greyhound Racing Signed Poster. Poster advertising St. Petersburg's Derby Lane greyhound track, with traditional illustration of the venue and greyhound logo made from collaged images rom the venue. Signed by artist lower right, dated 2002. Framed.
Derby Lane, located in St. Petersburg, Florida, was the oldest continuously operating greyhound racetrack in the United States, opening in 1925. For nearly a century, it was a major venue for greyhound racing, attracting spectators with its historic charm and competitive races. However, following Florida voters' 2018 decision to ban greyhound racing, Derby Lane held its final race on December 27, 2020. While racing has ended, the facility continues to operate as a poker room and simulcast betting venue, preserving its legacy as a historic entertainment destination in St. Petersburg.
