Victor Vasarely (1906–1997) was a Hungarian-French artist widely regarded as the father of Op Art. His work explored geometric abstraction and optical illusions, using bold colors and intricate patterns to create a sense of movement and depth. Influenced by Bauhaus principles and Constructivism, Vasarely developed a distinctive visual language that played with perception, leading to his signature style in the 1950s and 1960s. His works, such as Zebra and Vega, became iconic representations of Op Art, and his influence extended into architecture and design.
