- Lot Description
Thai Kamavacca Two wood lacquered, illustrated end covers. Eight double sided folios. Folios are red lacquer and gold with black lacquer script.
Consists of two wooden covers and eight sheets. It contains sacred text related to the special activities of a monk in Myanmar (formerly Burma). Its language is Kamawa-sa, Burmese pali-based script of late 19th or early 20th century.
Might also be known as a Sutra which is defined as a brief scripture that contains express of belief and wisdom from religious teachings. Collections of sutras exist in various religious traditions, including Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism. All three religions originated on the Indian subcontinent of SE Asia,
