Tamara Jare is a figurative painter born in Slovenia in 1962. She was taught art by her mother, a professional artist, from a very early age. She studied medicine at Ljubljana University, but after marrying and giving birth to two children she became a stay-at-home mother, taking night courses in international education. After her children had grown and moved away she returned to art, becoming a full-time artist in the 2000s. Tamara Jare has exhibited her bright, colorful paintings at curated art shows in the United States, Italy, and Slovenia, and has been featured at the Guggenheim Museum. Her works have sold well at auction, and she devotes much of her time now to various online and public art projects that address social and environmental issues.
