Steven Martin Cox (born January 2, 1958, in Harringay, London) is an English-born Australian artist and writer renowned for his provocative and surreal imagery. Emigrating to Melbourne in 1968, he studied painting at the Victorian College of the Arts from 1978 to 1980. Cox's work often delves into themes of homoeroticism, psychological aberrations, and the human condition, employing mediums such as watercolor, gouache, ink, and collage on paper. His notable exhibitions include "Beyond Belief" (1987), which explored the crimes of British Moors murderers, and "Kinderspiel" (1995), focusing on children who commit violent acts. Cox has also contributed writings on art and queer-related topics to various publications. His works are held in prestigious collections, including the National Gallery of Victoria. - Shipping Info
