**R. C. Gorman** (1931–2005) was a celebrated Native American artist, renowned for his distinctive depictions of Navajo women. Born in Chinle, Arizona, on the Navajo Nation, Gorman was influenced by his cultural heritage, which he expressed through his art. His work, primarily in painting and lithography, is characterized by bold colors, fluid lines, and a focus on the grace and dignity of his subjects. Often referred to as the "Picasso of American Indian Art," Gorman's pieces gained international acclaim, with exhibitions in major galleries worldwide. In addition to his art, Gorman was also a philanthropist, supporting various Native American causes and artists. His legacy endures as a significant figure in contemporary Native American art.Condition
