Peter Trexler (b. 1954) American, Oracle Lightworks Large Copper Wall Art. Heavy.

Size: 30 1/2 x 28 x 6 1/4 in.

Peter Trexler was born in Tucson, Arizona in 1954. As a child he was introduced to photography by a friend at summer camp, and when he graduated high school he moved to Los Angeles, California, where he worked as a professional commercial photographer in the 1970s. In 1981 he was first introduced to metal sculpture by one of his models, and moved north to Arcata to begin taking art classes at Humboldt Polytechnic State University. After earning his BA he moved back to Tucson, where he received his MFA at the University of Arizona. He began teaching photography in 1996 at Pima Community College, where he also currently teaches in the Visual Arts and Digital Arts programs. He opened his own studio, Oracle Light Works, in 1999 in the Sonoran Desert, where he continues to make both metal sculpture and photographic exhibitions.
