Max Michel Agostini (1914-1997) French, Oil on Canvas. Signed in the lower right. Depicting a colorful landscape with blooming flowers in the foreground and trees in the background with a figure bending.
The collection comes from the Estate of Don Huber, a North Shore Long Island Community of Glen Head, New York.
Overall Size: 25 x 30 3/4 in.

Max Agostini was born in Paris of Corsican origin by his grandparents. Agostini studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. It is there that he discovered a real talent for Impressionism. Agostini was drafted into the French Army for 5 years during World War II, he was made prisoner for 3 years. After the war, Agostini was noticed for his excellent portraits and landscape in Chateauroux where he worked. He painted some of his most beautiful pieces a few days before his hospitalization in 1997 when he died. Agostini is recognized worldwide as one of the greatest colorists of his time.
