Lucien Baylac (French, 1908-1991) Vintage Advertising Poster for St. Gervais Thermal Spa. Vintage advertising poster for St. Gervais les Bains, featuring a woman in a yellow sundress and bright orange parasol with a small child playing in the flowers alongside her, next to the visage of the spa building. Advertising new treatments for nervous tension and eczema. Framed.
Lucien Baylac (1908–1991) was a French painter and printmaker known for his evocative landscapes, still lifes, and portraiture. Rooted in the post-impressionist tradition, his work often displayed a vibrant use of color and a dynamic sense of movement. Baylac was inspired by the pastoral beauty of the French countryside, capturing its light and textures with sensitivity and precision. Over his career, he exhibited in numerous salons and galleries across France, gaining recognition for his ability to balance realism with a lyrical quality in his art. Today, his works are celebrated for their timeless charm and emotional resonance.
