- Lot Description
Looney Tunes 1994 "Sluggers" Artist Proof. Warner Brothers Looney Tunes tribute to Baseball and titled "Sluggers" at the top. Published in 1994 to commemorate professional baseballs 125th anniversary, and to honor the eleven living players as of 1994 who had hit 500 or more home runs during their careers.
Characters left to right are Sylvester James Pussycat Junior, the Tasmanian Devil Taz, Hippety Hopper, Sylvester the Cat, Bugs Bunny, Foghorn Leghorn, Barnyard Dawg, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Henry Hawk, and Speedy Gonzales.
Lower left has the McKimson productions Inc Warner Brothers 1994 Fine Art Sport Limited Edition seal. Above that is numbered A.P. 222/250. Lower right has the Professional Baseball 125th Anniversary seal. Signed by Charles McKimson and Thomas McKimson.
Certificate of Authenticity on the back listing who was honored, including Hank Aaron, Willie Mays, Frank Robinson, Harmon Killebrew, Reggie Jackson, Mike Schmidt, Mickey Mantle, Ted Williams, Willie McCovey, Ernie Banks, and Eddie Matthews.
Condition: Slipped out of the frame.

#6530The image was recreated by Warner Brothers animators Charles and Tom McKimson. Both of them worked with their brother Robert, longtime creative force during cartooning's "Golden Age" at Warner Brothers. This is a unique form of mixed media, including both lithography and serigraphy, resulting in a high quality image. They all contain the Warner Brothers and Major League Baseball seals, signed by the animators, and individually numbered. There was an edition size of 2500 with 250 artist proofs (this one is an artist proof).
