Jules Jacques Veyrassat (1828 - 1893) "L'escorte du Caid" ink drawing. Signed and dated. Provenance: Robert Noortman Gallery. Christie's and gallery label verso. Sight Size: 7 x 10.5 in. Overall Size: 13.5 x 16.75 in. This item is framed behind glass. Jules Jacque Veyrassat studied art in Paris under Lehman and had his first paintings exhibited in the Paris Salon in 1848. Veyrassat is generally associated with the Barbizon School of painters. His work is often compared to the rural works of prominent Barbizon painter and engraver Charles Emile Jacque (1813-1894) and well known Barbizon painter Jean-Fran?ois Millet (1814-1875).
